Workshop rooms for bigger groups (20 - 50 people)#85

?

besides tables and main stages, it would be great to have workshop rooms, where much more people can join parallel workshops. a bit like “barcamp”.

Tables are great for networking and small workshops. But we would love to do bigger workshops as well.

That would be great!

I like this feature too. I find myself reverting to Zoom right now because sometimes you need to see everyone’s face.

Is there any update on this? Our breakout groups/tables would need to be larger (up to 20 people) and without this we can’t use Remo for our events. Being able to join tables up or create tables or breakout rooms for larger groups would be brilliant. Is there a workaround for this?

Hi @Blaire Palmer. There is a sort of workaround that we use and that is to create another building for your breakout room and use one of the sponsor panels as a link to get to that breakout room. Then in those breakout rooms, use one of the sponsor panels to get back to the main plenary. We have also created our own overlays for Remo that are in an iframe with drop down menus to take people to those breakout rooms. I hope this is helpful to you?

@Simon Latter thank you. Could you have multiple buildings then? Eg 20 or more? If so this could work brilliantly!

Yes, as many as you like up to 20 as that is the maximum number of sponsor panels you can have (at the moment). Or at least as many as your subscription allows to run simultaneously? Not sure if there is a limit as we have the top level package. Because we use an overlay and can have unlimited mulitple buildings, we could effectively have as many concurrent buildings as we like if we add them to the drop down menus.

You could then ‘present’ in each of those breakout rooms and then invite people to the stage to talk. The max number on the stage is the same as the max number on your tables as part of your payment plan, but at least everyone in that breakout room would be able to see and hear everything and interject when they wished by raising their hand.

That’s extremely helpful. Thanks @Simon Latter !

That’s brilliant @Simon Latter! I just didn’t get how the atendees can return to the main building from the “breakout room” if it is in Presentation Mode. In this mode the sponsor panels are not visible so people can click on it, right? Do you put the link on the chat?

Thanks @Diego Nunes, if we don’t use our overlay with drop down menus on then yes, you can put the link in the general chat or you can go one better and put the link in an announcement, that way people can’t miss it at all. Remember, if you’re in present mode you need to add the announcement as an action into the Run of Show and then you can activate announcements there too. If not, just unpresent and then hit everyone with an announcement. I hope that helps.
